As my title says, I am experiencing huge fps drops upto 10 fps in every game that I am playing, shortly after I start my PC. Lets say, 15 minutes. Be it Forza, Quantum Break or NFS. A restart fixes the issue but if I turn my PC off, then the next day when I start it, this issue pops up again. I checked my GPU performance through MSI Afterburner. Whenever I face this issue my gpu usage reaches 99% while temp. is around hardly 50C. I have been using Windows 10 for almost 4 months, never faced this issue at all. I have downgraded drivers also but no change in the situation. My configuration is below:

CPU: i5 4690 @ 3.5 GHZ
Ram: 16gb @ 1600 MHZ
GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 @ stock speeds
WD Cavier Blue 1TB

I need urgent help in this. Thanks in advance!

I just had the some problem with a GTX 960, go to Task Manager( Ctrl+Shift+Esc) go to the processes, find the on which is using the most percent(%) of your CPU,right-click on it,go to the folder, then you End the process and then you delete the .exe file.It should be a virus/malware file.

As you can see mine was a malware trying to hide as a Java schedule.
http://postimg.org/image/we1iu4c6j/ - that was my 90+% gpu load on idle with 50+ temperature, and this is after the file delete:

You can see the huge difference on the GPU Load , the temperature and the memory usage. I hope this will help you!

How will I know that my power saving options have turned on for my GPU?

Tired it already, but it didn't fix anything. Restarting the PC temporarily fixes the issue but it soon comes back to the same state. Within 10 minutes after booting up my PC, I face this. Is windows 10 the issue? I am in build 10586.318. I formatted my PC yesterday, so it is ok for now. But i don't know whether it will happening again. It is as if my GPU never gets detected when playing a game. It behaves like a laptop where the i-GPU gets used but no the dedicated.
