Just purchased 3 Asus VG248QE monitors. Will a single MSI GTX 970 4G be able to power 3d surround well?

Building a new computer that's ready for VR, but wanted to try 3D also. I have a i5 6600k, 16gb ram, asus maximus hero alpha and a MSI GTX 970. Will the single graphics card be able to play 3d well on 3d vision surround on an Asus VG248qe? To get 3d surround does it have to be on 3 display ports/dual link dvi or can I use a combination with display port to dvi active adaptor? If a single 970 won't work could you please suggest either changing it to a 980 or getting another 970?

I'd wait for the 1070 at this point. Either it will be not much more then the 970 or the 970 will drop at least $50 more.
