Hi, i plan on upgrading to a 1080 when they are released been rocking a 670 for a long time now and i think its time to upgrade my monitor as well only have a 1080p 60fps ips monitor currently. I was looking at 1440p monitors. So my questions are, do i need 144hz is it that large of a difference and the same with g-sync do i need that as well. Im looking at;

I mean i know what they do i was asking for some personal opinions and experiences on whether or not they make a tangible difference that a normal person coould notice.

144hz is important for proffesional esports players as it gives a slight edge in their ability to react to what is shown on the screen.

If you are not a hardcore copetitive gamer, 144hz is not very important. G Sync synchronizes the refresh rate and your GPU. It simply makes everything smoother and more responsive.

In my experience, at 27" there is a large difference between 1080p and 1440p. At 24" it isn't nearly as noticeable, but then again 24" 1440p monitors are few and far between.

I would like to get a Gsync/Freesync monitor when prices come down some, but I have no personal experience yet so I can't really comment there. I've heard good things, but it does cost quit a bit more.
