Swapping windows versions between laptops?

Okay, I have 2 laptops.

Laptop 1: Dell, came with windows 8 or 8.1. Just upgraded to win10 home for free.

Laptop 2: CyberPower, came formatted. Installed win10 education from a license I got from school.

I need to swap the versions! As in, I want the EDU version on the Dell, and the Home version on the CyberPower... How can I do that without clean installing everything? (keep in mind I had upgraded from 8/8.1 to win10 on the dell, so I don't know how that effects the key)

I tried "change license key" in settings, but got the error 0x80041023
How do I change them correctly?

It sounds like the Dell came with an OEM license in which case it can not be moved whether you upgraded it to 10 or not. It would appear that you're going to have to buy another license (or two) and be sure the the computers you put them on are compatible with whatever you do.

So if I want to swap out the HD in the Dell, I have to buy a new version of windows??
