Did my monitor just die?

PC specs:
cpu: fx-6100
gpu: r9 285
monitor: 20 inch 1600x900 Dell connected with DVI cable

I was playing a game called Dirty Bomb and in the middle of the game my monitor just went black like it was turned off. My pc was still on and I could still hear the game sounds. I tried unplugging the DVI cable and power cord from the monitor and plugging it back in but it didn't help. The power button on my monitor just blinks now. Could it be a problem with my monitor or video card? Any help would be appreciated.

It could be either. Do you have a TV you should try and use an HDMI cable or something to see if it's the GPU or not.

Yeah, I just hooked up my pc to a TV with HDMI and the display was working fine, so yeah it was my monitor that was the problem.
