Hello guys,

Am looking for the best gaming pc I can get for £500/£600?

Even though I work in IT this would be my first time assembling a PC from scratch so would like some help with picking out parts to be safe.

I would love for the pc to be able to run games such as GTA 5 and the new upcoming 'Battlefield' on 1080p on high (60fps), is that possible for this budget, if not what sort of performance can I expect?

Many Thanks,

M

Edit: I have a monitor and razer peripherals so those do not need to be included.

Bumping is not allowed. At the 600 mark, this would work. For a little over 600, you could go with the faster clocked i5 6500.

Thank you for removing the bump rather than the post, and thanks for the reply itself, I will look into the £600 build and maybe add the i5-6500.

At the moment I have this vantage case, it seems to do a very good job of cooling as I think it has multiple fans.

I was reading up about this case from this website, from my understanding I will be able to add 4 extra fans, 2 on top 2 on the side, is this correct?

Thanks for your input Tayonas, your build doesn't seem to load due to a syntax error though.

I'd rather buy a new case if I'm completely honest, and I will certainly take the £15 upgrade into consideration sounds great (Thanks Tayonas)!

I am just asking about the case that you suggested logain, all I meant by that is I want a case that can take lots of fans so it can stay cool as nothing drives my gears more (as an ex-owner of a laptop that overheated 5 minutes into usage (about 2 years ago now)).

I also wanted to ask whether you or anyone you know has this sort of build and can comment on a few games I would love to be able to try out (am not able to with my current slow pc) regarding FPS/Quality/Resolution? Games like GTA V and The Division I would LOVE to be able to play on absolutely maximum settings (possibly with cutting corners like taking off Vsync and AA), is this possible?

Many thanks for your input and help,

M

£15 probably not, however I saw some for £30 etc. they seemed legit.

Anyways, anything about maxing out those games I mentioned in last reply? :p

Medium to high should be doable with a GTX 960 4gb, in those titles. You are going to need a much better GPU, if wanting to max out all of those titles.

Ahh, how about a the 970 graphics card, it was only like £50/£60 more and seemed much higher up, am willing to invest if it works and as long as my CPU will be keeping up?

GTX 1070 will be out soon, so the graphics card part, you may want to hold off on. If anything it should lower the prices of the GTX 970/980, if the titan x like performance claims are true. I think launch is June 10th. The i5 6400/6500 will have no problems with a GTX 970.

Actually they work and upgrade fine. Buy the ones that comes with Dell Installation DVD's. I am using something like 9 in my household.

The only drawback is that if you phone for support they refer you to Dell.

I know this because I had to facepalm when other people described phoning up.

If they weren't legit keys on the COA I think the convo would go differently.

Try this URL for the system I posted earlier, it is an i7.

Makes sense, in regards to the build I'm really funny about the whole prebuild thing purely because I just want to build my own computer this time.

I've bought 2 pre-built in my 19 years or so of building, I know what you mean about wanting to build your own. But sometimes it is cheaper for certain parts. Last I bought was 2 years ago to get the i5, RAM and HDD out of it. It was a Zoostorm. Got it for £400 on sale. It was worth it at the time.

But a few months later I started building my current machine.

Check Scan Computer's Today Only deals regular. You get budle deals (just ctrl+ f then type bundle) ... or scour the entire page, up to you :) You can right now get an i5 + mobo for £240.

Then I would check HUKD www.hotukdeals.com for RAM, probably the best place is an Amazon deal or even Amazon Warehouse. I got 32GB of my 64GB for £72 because it had been opened. The first 32GB I got off them didn't work, the second is still running fine.

Ebuyer are doing 16GB for £60 http://www.ebuyer.com/720293-hyperx-16gb-2x8gb-2666mhz-ddr4-non-ecc-cl15-1-2v-memory-hx426c15fbk2-16

So that's £300, plus the £15 for Windows is £315.

You will get a 750ti GFX card for about £100 from Amazon or most places. That's £415, say £420 :) I recommend the 750ti over the 960, but 960 if you can spare another £20 or so.

500GB SSD HDD Samsung EVO https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-inch-Solid-State-Drive/dp/B00P73B1E4/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1464542417&sr=1-1&keywords=Samsung+850+EVO+500+GB for £106.

So £526.

You said maybe £600, so this PSU for £55 delivered:
http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/powersupplies/451wto650w/rs650-amaab1-uk.html

They also have decent ones in Amazon Warehouse, don't be scared. I got my 1200W modular Corsair one for £70.

And a case, well there are plenty if you can stretch just a little more.

But so far for £580 you have:

Intel i7 6500 (Scan)
16GB DDR4 (Ebuyer)
500GB Samsung EVO HDD. (Amazon)
GTX950 (About Anywhere)
650W PSU (Novatech)
Win10

Just needs a case.

If you can go a little further you can get the better CPU bundle deal from Scan and a good case. But Amazon tend to have Zalman cases fairly cheap a lot of the time.
