I plan on buying the new GTX 1070 when it comes out, everything suggests that performance would be on par with the GTX 980ti. With that purchase I want to purchase a dual monitor setup (Identical monitors for mounting purposes and so I can get color to look the same). After seeing benchmarks of the 980ti pushing 1440p, I don't think that 1070 would handle dual 1440p seamlessly so I would prefer to stick with the largest 1080p monitor that still looks really good. Any ideas? I was thinking 27" but I saw a lot of people saying 27" was pointless unless it's 1440p

I upgraded from a 27" Samsung 60hz 1080p monitor to the ever so famous Asus 23" 144hz 1080p monitor. I use a vizio 1080p as a secondary screen for your purpose. Going from 27" to 23" was a great change because the screen looks sharper. I was considering getting the 27" version of the Asus monitor but was glad I didn't. You should also consider how...

I won't be gaming on both, just 1, which is why I prefer the largest 1080p that still looks good. The second is for Netflix, quick research, etc. I thought about 3 monitors but I honestly don't think I'd use the third much. But again I want the monitors to be identical and sometimes I multi box and have one account up on one monitor and another on the other so performance is important.

You should also consider how close you will be to the monitor because if your very close to a 27", you may get overwhelemd by the size. There's a chart somewhere online where you can find the efficiency of resolution size to distance from the screen. Kind of hard to look it up on the phone right now but if you find the chart, you can make a much better informed decision on 23-27" 1080p. Personally, I would go with 23-24". If you do plan to game on both at once (multibox, wouldn't suggest fps games with only 2 monitors), the pixel count of 2x1080p is 4,147,200. 1440p totals to 3,686,400. It's possible it will be more demanding than 2k/1440p. However, if you're just gaming on a single screen and multitasking on the other, there will be a small loss in performance but not compared to 2 instances of games at once.

I have an evga gtx 770 SC 2gb. Ran the forza beta and overwatch at the same time (playing overwatch and forgot to close forza) and went from ~148 frames average to about ~76 fps average.

Hope this helps!
