Hello guys,

Since finding the 1440p, 144hz, IPS, G-Sync monitors out of my price range, there's obviously something that I have to compromise on. Probably G-Sync.

What are the top 5 recommendations for the £500 and below price range? I would certainly like a monitor that's at least 1440p, 120Hz and IPS. But from what I've researched it seems like the whole 120-144hz and low response time lies with the TN monitors but then of course you lose those vibrant colours that an IPS panel would achieve.

If I'm going with a GTX 1080, 6700k, 16GB RAM configuration and I'm playing the latest titles, what do you guys think?

Any recommendations are much appreciated.

Actually I think you are in luck. Asus has a $670 USD or 455 pound monitor that offers everything you want and more.

Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/PG278Q-27-Inch-Display-Refresh-Monitor/dp/B00MSOND8C/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1464223947&sr=1-5&keywords=120hz+ips+monitor&refinements=p_36%3A-70000

It has:
- IPS display
- 2560x1440p resolution
- 120hz refresh rate
- 1ms response time
- G-Sync
- displayport inputs (cable included)

EDIT: If g-sync isn't your thing and you want to go even cheaper here is one more option at about 260 pounds.
ASUS PB278Q: http://www.amazon.com/PB278Q-2560x1440-DisplayPort-Ergonomic-Back-lit/dp/B009C3M7H0/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1464223947&sr=1-2&keywords=120hz+ips+monitor&refinements=p_36%3A-70000
And finally another option from BenQ at about 350 pounds that offers both freesync and g-sync but is unfortunately TN.
BenQ XL2730Z: http://www.amazon.com/BenQ-XL2720Z-Gaming-Monitor-Resolution/dp/B00GWFNMJS/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1464223947&sr=1-3&keywords=120hz+ips+monitor&refinements=p_36%3A-70000

Hi there,

Thanks for the reply, however the first monitor you have listed fits the bill perfectly except that it's actually based off of TN technology and not IPS.

And the 2nd is only 60Hz.

I did however find this one:

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/27-acer-predator-xb270hu-v2-2k-144hz-g-sync-ips-displayport-2560x1440-350cd-m2-100m1-4ms-speakers-us

Literally perfect and fits the budget.

Ah it would appear that the Amazon filters are yet again proving to be inaccurate. I should probably stick with Newegg lol. Anyways, great that you were able to find a solution!
