There was a system wide update for Microsoft a while ago, and since then my SoundBlaster ZxR card/s don't seem to work. They had been working perfectly before the update. They register with the system (meaning they show up in devices, programs, and in playback devices). I can even "test" them with the level graphic displaying imaginary sound rising and lowering.
So far, I've reinstalled the device software/drivers a couple of different ways. Through device manager and then restarting (where it downloads again automatically), by deleting the drivers and then downloading the drivers from Creative labs and installing via installation wizard. I also tried testing the suggested method of changing the Hrz in Playback devices>Soundblaster Speakers>Properties>Advanced. The tests continued to be mute.
So here I am, hoping someone out there can help me figure this out. I really miss having sound.
