I want to be able to rename/delete a bunch of music and video files that are on my laptop while I'm on my main PC. When I try to do that now it says "You require permission from Laptop-PC\Laptop to make changes to this folder".

Solution
Try a program called takeownership. (the program is safe) I use it on my rig. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/
There is instructions on how to use it on that site. If that fails try Unlocker http://filehippo.com/download_unlocker/
Be careful the installer doesn't try to install other software, if it does come up with some offer for anything, just decline it it will still install Unlocker

Hope this helps Dan SORRY SCRAP ANYTHING I PUT ABOVE DIDN'T READ YOUR TITLE PROPERLY
