Hi everyone!

I just purchased a new Acer monitor and I am trying to get 144hz from my laptop.
I have an MSI Apache Pro GE72 laptop with a mini displayport and I am wondering what cables I should use to get the full 144hz.

Thanks!!

I currently have this cable and it is only letting me do 60hz: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJCB83O/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Solution
Unfortunately, that display likely needs a dual-link DVI for full refresh rate, and your cable will only provide single-link.

You could get an active converter, but these tend to be expensive.

You could try setting a custom resolution (how you do this depends on your GPU; try google), but this may void your warranty for the monitor.

I'd probably try and swap the monitor for one that can do 144Hz over Displayport.

Ok thank you so much!!

I went ahead and returned that monitor and got one with a display port and a displayport to minidisplay port cable which should work!
