I'm planing to upgrade my new laptop HDD to SSD while using my HDD as a storage media on my laptop. My laptop came with windows 10 Home OEM. If I cloned the HDD will the windows be activated after I cloned or will it be deactivated?? And what happend to other activated softwares like MS Office and Antivirus Softwares???
Thank you for your support.

There are actually multiple partitions on a brand new drive.
C drive with all your stuff (OS and whatever)
Boot partition
etc, etc.

You need to ensure ALL of the original drive gets cloned over.

Cloning from one drive to another drive is an exact duplicate.
Nothing will be deactivated, nothing will be changed.

If and only if it all goes correctly.

Now...lets investigate:
How large is the new SSD?
How much total used space is on the current C drive or partition?

If the total current used space is below 200GB (and it probably is), then no prob.

If the device has mounts for 2 drives, connect the SSD internally.
Clone.

If it does NOT have mounts for 2 drives, you'll need a USB something to do it.

If you want to go into a detailed step by step, we can do that.

Pretty easy, actually:

1. Download and install Macrium Reflect.
Or, if a Samsung SSD, Samsung Data Migration.
2. Connect the new SSD. Either internally or externally
3. Run the software. Migrate from old to new, selecting ALL the partitions on the old drive
4. Once done, power off
5. Disconnect or remove the old drive
6. Install the new SSD into the proper space in the laptop
7. Power on, and verify in the BIOS that the SSD is first in the boot order
8. Continue the power on, and verify it actually boots from the SSD alone.

Assuming it works from the SSD alone, all is good.
If not, then we can troubleshoot further.
