What does TCASE 74 1°C mean

Hey guys i was reading some specifics about my intel E5200 cpu and i came across this frase: Tcase 74 celcius.
What does intel mean by this

Max temperature it can withstand.

I believe in this case, it represents the max core temperature before suffering massive degradation.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...it could be the max temps for the outer layer

Tcase: The thermal specification shown is the maximum case temperature at the maximum Thermal Design Power (TDP) value for that processor. It is measured at the geometric center on the topside of the processor integrated heat spreader.
