I had this idea:
What if I stored a backup of my current install of Windows 10 on a separate hard drive and downgraded one of the copies to Windows 7... is this possible and feasible to do?

Solution

No.
You have one license. Either 7 or 10. You don't get to use both.
You don't even need to backup your Win 10 install. Your decision to take advantage of Microsoft's free upgrade offer on a particular system is stored in Microsoft's activation servers. Once you do the Win 10 update, even if you roll it back to Win 7, you should be able to revert it back to Win 10 for free any time in the future.

What I'm asking is, is it possible to keep the two OS simultaneously. Besides, reverting back and forth is tedious and time consuming.
