Hi,

Here are the specs (Below)

I am going to buy a new gaming PC, but first I want to ask if I buy the core i7 6850K and Asus Strix X99, do I need to update the Bios in order to get my CPU working or there is no need to?

Specs:

CPU - i7-6850K 3.60GHz (Broadwell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3
Mobo - Asus Strix X99 Socket LGA2011-V3
VGA - EVGA GTX 1080 Founders Edition
RAM- Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - White
PSU- EVGA 750W NEX750G
CASE- H440 NZXT by Razer
Storage- M.2 Samsung 950 Pro 512Gb

I appreciate your help guys.

Thank you,

Steven

For current inventory cards, you'd most likely have to update the BIOS. As new stock rolls out with more up-to-date BIOS levels, it should be OK. Some motherboards have the BIOS level on the bar-code label. Not that it helps if you order online. In many cases, updating microcode can now be done stand-alone.

I'd not worry too much about it, it's not a big deal.
