Consistent Wi-Fi drops

As the title says I'm getting consistent drops in internet connection, about every 20-30 seconds which last about 1-3 seconds each. I'm almost certain it has to do with my computer rather than my internet as I don't have this problem on other devices and still have the same problem when I try to use my mobile data on my computer rather than my broadband internet. I don't have Wi-Fi capabilities built in so I use a D-Link DWA-171 USB to connect to the internet, which may be causing the problem? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for the USB but no luck. Anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you for your reply. However, while that box was indeed checked, when I unchecked it and continued my steam download it's still spiking. It goes alright for a few seconds then flat lines at 0 KB/s.

Never mind, problem seems to be resolved. Probably was the power saving thing, but my antivirus recently got rid of a virus so maybe it was that?
