Hope the title is concise enough. I picked up a PG278Q today, in anticipation of the gtx 1080, which will replace my gtx 580. However, I can't seem to get a signal, or have the system recognize the presence of the monitor at all.

Could this be a problem with the 580 not scanning its DVI ports? It doesn't have a problem with HDMI(Using HDMI monitor to type this)

Does the adapter (DP to DVI-D dual link) need to be active? The one I have is passive.

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, you will need an active adapter. Perhaps, it's time for an upgrade! the GTX1070 is a really nice card and it is well priced for its performance. :)

Thanks for the response. That sucks though, I can't find any active adapters - that also support dual link. Which is needed to get above 60hz 1080p. (The monitor is 1440p @ 144hz)
