Hey guys,

It's been a while since I have built a PC so I'm kind of out of the loop on parts and components. I wanted some feedback on parts I have picked out for my PC (which I will be using for primarily adobe creative cloud editing work mostly 1080p with the possibiltiy for 4k down the line and some gaming here and there).

CPU:
Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor
(I heard 6 cores is the sweet spot for video editing and I will probably be overclocking it. Don't think I need the 5930 as I don't think I need the extra PCI).

Cooling:
Corsair H110i GTX 104.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
(Not too sure about the differences in the Corsair H models but this seemed to be a popular choice)

Motherboard:
Asus X99-A II ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard
(So this is where I think I need the most advice on. I wanted ASUS because my others boards have been ASUS and I really like them but unsure on how much extra I really need on the x99 motherboard. I won't be doing SLI initially (probably won't be doing it down the line either as I'll just buy a new card). I wanted at least 64GB of memory cabability. Still on the fence with USB 3.1 but I thought it would be better to future proof a bit. And then maybe another couple slots for expansion if I decide on any kind of card readers later on.

Memory:
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
(I was going to go with 32GB to start with)

GPU:
Asus GeForce GTX 980 4GB STRIX Video Card

Hard Drive:
Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive-Use for OS and program files
Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive-Use for Previews, Media Cache and exports
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive-Use for Media (May even get 2TB or RAID0?)

PSU:
EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

Thoughts?

Its a nice build. I wouldn't go with the 5820K however unless you are definitely planning to overclock it. If you are not overclocking, consider the 5930K or 6850K. The MB is nice, but if you wanted the older model you could always add a PCIe USB 3.1 expansion card later.

You may be right. There is more difference in price than I thought. I would be inclined to overclock it though as otherwise the performance is not clearly and significantly superior to the i7 6700K.
