Question about setting up a new Asus X99 Deluxe II with Broadwell-E i7 6950x CPU / Bios

This is my first pc build. I read that I may need to update the bios on the Asus X99 Deluxe II motherboard to work with the Broadwell-E i7 6950x CPU. Can I install and try the 6950x first without knowing the bios version or will it damage the CPU if it is not updated prior to plugging in the CPU?

On the ASUS site looks like the X99-DELUXE II board ships with 0401 and that is the only bios for all CPU's listed, your 6950x should be good to go
