This might be a really stupid question since it doe surpass the gtx 970 requirements for VR but will the gtx 1070 perform well with say the HTC vive?

Everything I can find online talks about the 1080 and VR and not the 1070. My system contains the a watercooled 1070, and I'm wondering if I should've had the 1080. I'm not getting rid of the 1070, I love it but I'm not against getting a second one to sli if I have to use it with VR.

Opinions? :p

The 1070 has the same VR-specific tech advances as the 1080, so it shares the same advances in VR - the 1080 is a huge step forward to the 980 in VR (more so than when using a monitor). The 1070 is a similar massive leap over the 970.

I think you'll find the 1070 more than enough for current-gen VR and it will be higher-res next gen headsets that will need the next leap.
