I build a new computer a couple of days ago.
I installed windows using windows media player with no problems.
Under startup my monitor goes black, and of course i look at the wiring and nothing is wrong.
Then my monitor goes into sleep mode, and by pressing a key my keyboard, i am somehow able to activate it. I assume its because my monitor went to sleep so i changed the setting from 5 minutes before sleep to never. But it turns out that wasn't the problem and no i can't acces my computer because of the black monitor.
So is there any other solution than to reset the harddrive?
(sorry for the bad english, it's not my first language)

Does monitor have a settings menu? is it set to use the right input? Maybe its looking for a HDMI connection and you using DP
try different inputs perhaps?

mine was losing connection last year because the 6 pin power cable wasn't on tight enough, but this is going to sleep, not saying its not connected.
