Z800 adding second CPU - does it get faster? Y/N

Hello!

I have a Z800 with the Xeon E5540 and 16 GB RAM. Only 1 CPU installed of possible 2. I just got an offer to buy a second identical CPU for about 40$. Question here is will I notice ANY improvement? I only do Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign work on it.

I know the config is antiquated, I know there are tons of better things out there, I can't upgrade the one CPU I have because of bios date lock (I looked it up). So in a nutshell. If I install a second E5540 CPU will I notice ANY improvement at all? (another 16GB of RAM is also on the way - that I know will help)

Again, I do not want to upgrade just now. I just want to know if it's worth spending the 40$ or not.

Adding the second CPU will be necessary if you want to use the RAM slots that go with it. Other than that, it probably won't give you any additional performance. You could upgrade to an X5570 or a W5580. In the US, you can get a pair of X5570s for about $50.
