So I am building a computer with a gtx 1070 and need to know should I buy an acer g257hu which is 1440 but 60hz or go for the Asus VG248QE which is 1080p but 144hz

Using a GTX1070 to push 1440p at 60hz would be a waste of that card, in my opinion. Might as well just get a gtx980 then.. In fact, it would probably be a waste to play 1080 at 144hz as well.. You can't get a 144hz 1440p monitor?

What type of games do you mostly play? I would use the ASUS for FPS and twitch type games and the Acer for MMO's, RTS, and RPG.

Ok I will be playing mostly fps games so I will go with the asus
