Running a R9 270X Twin Frozr (MSI). When i upgraded my ram and CPU cooler i decided to slap on a 3rd monitor (it was just sitting there not being used). It worked fine for the first 2 days. On day 3, i started my pc, went to the bathroom, and came back to an error on my screen reading "Overclock settings have failed, reverting to stock settings". Now my PC wasn't even overclocked yet, so this was odd in itself, but i restarted and it worked fine, except now my 3rd monitor wont power on. It says i only have 2 monitors plugged in. I have unplugged and replugged 3-4 times now, still nothing.
Something i think is important(?) is that the 3rd monitor is plugged into a VGA port on the mobo, as the GPU doesn't have a VGA, just 2 DVI's and an HDMI. If need be i will purchase an adapter, or just use my 4th monitor that is DVI (my 2 main monitors are DVI and HDMI)
EDIT: also just noticed my desktop shortcut icons have moved around, not sure if related
