No display or backlight after rebuild

I pulled my Sony vaio laptop apart yesterday to clean all contacts and resink the cpu and gpu. I scraped all the old thermal paste off and replaced with new paste. I put everything back together except I forgot to plug in the hdd's. Tried to start it and nothing happened, so screen or anything. Took it back apart and plugged in the hdd's and tried it again. Still nothing...what should I do now. I can't even see bios and I've tried using an external display just in case. I can hear the fans running and hdd's spinning.

check that all the little cables are pluged in correctly. some of them can trick you that there actually pluged and locked in all the way.
