Intel DG33TL is my desktop board-what processor upgrade?

Hello,


I have Intel DG33TL desktop board and it had dried up thermal paste. Since I have it open and all-I'm wondering what kind of processor can I upgrade this to? Currently I have Intel Core 2 Quad Malay

Do I just replace the processor and it'll just turn on or would I need to install certain softwares and all as well?

This is just my old desktop -I don't really use it for anything but might use it with TV or should I not worry about upgrading at all?

Core 2 Quad is max you can put on that board. No point in looking for any replacements.

Don't bother upgrading not much you can do with it unless you completely replace the motherboard, if you don't want to upgrade the motherboard the keep as it is

Ok thanks. That's what I thought. Even back in 2007 when I was getting this I was thinking that I should get a better motherboard but oh well.

I have an Alienware M14x so far it's good. I'll soon add MSATA drive to it though
