Best way to upgrade to Win10

I have Win7 Home installed then I used a upgrade key to update the system to Win7 Pro. Is there anyway I can do a clean install for Win10 Pro? I tried upgrading through Windows Update previously and most of my games/apps didn't work so it seems my best bet is the clean install but I don't want to lose my "pro" upgrade since it wasn't cheap. Any help is appreciated.

Win 7 Pro will Upgrade to Win 10 Pro.

I suggest getting the MediaCreation tool from MS: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10/
Create your own DVD or USB, and Upgrade that way, instead of all online.

Absolutely, yes.

"A blank USB or DVD (and DVD burner) with at least 4 GB of space if you want to create media. We recommend using a blank USB or blank DVD, because any content on it will be deleted."


Just to be clear, you download that MediaCreation tool to the PC, and use that to create the USB.
