Yes, im well aware that IPS, oled, plasma, etc... are generally far better at color accuracy and viewing angles than twisted neumatic displays... But Im just curious, how good can a TN panels get?

What is the most high tech, most bleeding edge, expensive TN? Does the technology have room to improve? If only we could fix TN limitations, it seems like it would be a real winner! Low cost, excellent response time, high native refresh rates, etc...

What is the best damn TN panel money can buy?

Solution
Very few people NEED both colour accuracy AND fast response. Eg. Not many pro photographers play games on their rigs, so there isn't really a big enough market to sell a 'does everything' screen.

You probably CAN make a TN panel colour accurate, but it will likely still be worse than an IPS, and the cost would probably be much more, making it pointless.

Most the products we have are right at the point of diminishing returns. To get SLIGHTLY better colour, you'd probably need to just about double the price, and then you'd sell nothing.

There is no point in staying with old methods or tech. There is a reason for innovation and creating new panel types or improving others like how ips is a whole lot faster and cheaper now. Don't forget crt was a lot faster and cheaper than tn. There's still plenty of new tn panels coming out but there are just limits on what it can do. Pg278q is the best I know of. There's not many top end entries.
