FX-8350 Black Edition + XFX R9 390x?

Well... I'm kinda new to PC building and I really need some advice. Right now I'm running a PC with AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU and RADEON HD7800 Grapichs Card, which was running good when I just bought it, but recently the performance has been lowering while I'm gaming and I was thinking of buying new components. I want to upgrade my graphics card to a R9 390x but I want to know if the AMD FX-8350 (AMD fan btw) is a good choice to pair with the GC. (Sorry for bad english)

If you upgrade to an FX 8350 you would also need to replace the motherboard. I would suggest getting an i5 6500 instead since you anyways need to replace your mobo.

I'm currently using ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 Motherboard btw...

The le will struggle with 8 core chips mate in all honesty , the 6300 with a little overclock is about as far as I'd go on that board.
Not a huge amount more powerful than your 965 really.
