Wanted to make sure I'm NOT going to break forum rules

Hello all,
This question is more aimed towards moderators.

I was thinking about helping to keep the forum optimized for searching by new users. To do this, I was going to go back in my Tracked Threads and choose Best Answers for ones that haven't had any activity in more than three months. Is this against forum rules? Do you or do you not recommend this?

You can't select the BA unless you're the OP. Periodically, a moderator will go through older threads and select the BA to close the thread out. It usually takes around 90 days.

I just realized that the title says "Wanted to make sure I'm going to break forum rules"

I wanted it to say "Wanted to make sure I'm not going to break forum rules". Whoops

Okay I have another question... Is voting up for a reply supposed to signify that you agree with them, or you want that to be the Best Answer?

I guess I mean, is it more of a vote or a thumbs up?

It is to say, in your opinion, this is a good answer. It was meant to be a vote of support (or disagreement) to a stated post. Honestly, it doesn't get used very much outside of article/reviews/news.

I rarely use the feature.
