For people that dont know, Smite is a 3rd person moba from Hi-rez who have also made Tribes Ascend and Global Agends. The game was made in 2012 and uses the Unreal Engine. I can run the game at max settings, which isnt all that visually stunning, and receive about 100-90 fps with occassional dips to the 80 range. Once i enter my second game the fps drops to 80 down to 60-70 and if i decide to just deal with the low fps and stuttering the fps goes down to 50 and never gets higher than 60 unless im away from lanes or just in the fountain. When starting the game on the lowest settings possible minus the resolution the problem is only delayed. This never happens on any of the the other games i play such as Guild Wars 2, Overwatch, BF4, or GTA V.

Specs:

OS: Win 10 64-bit
CPU: AMD FX-8350
RAM: 8.00GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz
Mobo: ASRock 970 Extreme3
Graphics: 4096MB ATI AMD Radeon R9 380 Series (MSI)
Storage: 223GB KINGSTON SV300S37A240G SATA Disk Device (SSD)
1397GB Seagate FreeAgent USB Device (USB (SATA))
PSU: EVGA 220-G2-0850-XR 80 PLUS GOLD 850W

I used to have an old AMD athlon quad core processor from 2012 paired up with a GTX 750 and this game ran at high 50s to hitting 70 even in team fights without stuttering.

Now I understand that optomization is a huge possibility, but i want to know if there are any other common issues besides that and overheating of the components. By the way my gpu runs at 61 when gaming and ive only hit a max of 63c as for the cpu ive only seen it hit around the 40s when gaming max. I appreciate any help! :)

A lot of time for me its just updates. Could be windows or your graphics card maybe? I'd go and check for updates on different things. Thats all I can think of at the moment, if I get any other ideas I'll be sure to edit this and let you know.

I hope this helped :)

Thanks for that quick reply. Down the road I might just do a complete reinstall of windows and wipe everything. As for the graphics card I have the latest stable amd drivers for it.

Hey man, I have the same issue and it's bugging the heck out of me. I noticed a similarity in our pc setups (we both have an R9 380 4GB). This makes me pretty suspicious about SMITE's optimization with the specific GPU.

Specs:

OS: Win 10 64-bit
CPU: i5 6500 3.2 GHz
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400 MHz DDR4
Mobo: MSI Z170A PC Mate
Graphics Card: Sapphire R9 380 4GB OC (Factory OC)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1000GB HDD
PSU: Cooler Master G650M

My friends have worse setups with worse GPUs and still they get alot better performance in the game.
Example: GTX 760

The game just isnt optimized with the 380. I reverted back to my gtx 750 and it played at a smooth 80-100+ fps for hours.
