Currently I am looking for a new TV for my bedroom that meets a few requirements,

  • *This TV is for my bedroom and although I own several monitors, I am not pleased with their display of colors, I was hoping for something to pop out at me and be an enjoyment to watch.

    *4K screen resolution

*Less than $1000 (It can be above it but I am looking for a TV that will likely go on sale I am not planning to buy it right now)

*VA or IPS panels (Although I'd like OLED it's like 3x the price)

*I'd like it to be between 50" and 60" if there is a deal for a bigger screen feel free to share

*Not necessary if its a good TV HDR (Several reviewers of the TV's I've been interested have stated that HDR may be something to invest in, if someone can show me an unedited side by side comparison it'd be greatly appreciated.)

I appreciate any feedback and contributions!

I have done some research prior to this and will list some of the TV's I currently have price trackers on.

Seems this particular TV has issues with motion blur and is generally not liked.

hi slumber you have a good selection there.

i had been looking for ages for a tv and now have a 65" sony bravia xr850c. for me it was down to the samsungs or sony (can't get Vizio in my country).

you should definitely take a long look through rtings.com it is pretty much the best source of info for tvs (for pc users). they measure heaps of things that most other reviewers don't such as input lag and judder which is important for pc users.

generally speaking Samsungs and Vizio have the best input lag - which is good for gaming. Sony has a slower input lag but it is still within the "acceptable range".

i ended up going with a sony 85x series because i use my pc/tv for everything, watching movies, playing games and it was the only tv...

i ended up going with a sony 85x series because i use my pc/tv for everything, watching movies, playing games and it was the only tv that could avoid judder without motion interpolation enabled. judder would end up annoying the cr@p out of me. it also plays 120hz native at 1080p - or 4k 4:4:4 chroma sampling (at 60hz). my tv has an input lag rating of i think 39ms, on the site they don't recommend anything over 50ms (the 850d you listed is faster still). i was a bit worried about the figure as samsungs can get in the low 20s and i play a fair bit of battlefront. but yeah it is fine no noticeable input lag for me and even better when running at 120hz.

so it is a bit of a balancing act on what is important to you, spend time looking at the review on rtings.com i suggest weighing up the Judder, Input Lag, and PC monitor sections with the cost benefits. I think you should get one with HDR to future proof yourself, with the RX480 release amd was talking about utilizing HDR in gaming.

Hope that helps out.

After a about 10 minutes on the sight reading reviews I believe I have made a decision on the Vizio P series, now it comes down to deciding on a size :/ (55 inch version has an IPS panel instead of a VA panel for whatever reason)
