I'm thinking about buying this 4K monitor

There's a monitor on sale today, that appears to have some quality reviews & I'm reasonably impressed with its stats.

IPS is not something I'm super familiar with,

Being that the one you've linked, while on sale, is $150 more than the one I'm looking at, are the effects of IPS great enough to be worth the up charge? I'm not seeing a lot of difference in the monitors otherwise.

If you're just gaming, $150 more is not worth it. If you do more than just gaming (watching movies, video editing), it is.

IPS is much better than TN. Look at the price difference between XB270HU TN panel and XB270HU IPS panel and you'll know that it's worth the extra price.

Dang,

I've been reading into the monitor more as I've been posting & it might be a wash anyway.

I run Nvidia & I'd be unable to make use of the monitor's FreeSync. Too bad Free/G Sync are not cross-platform. Sigh.

I'm wondering though. My current monitors are, in many ways an embarrassment to my machine (I've em been looking for deals for a while now), that being said, how critical is the Sync technology when it comes to paring a monitor to the card?

Mostly I game, but I do stream as well. So a high-end monitor would be lovely...

In looking around, I've found this item right here:

The problem is, Amazon lists it as an IPS, but NewEgg lists it as a TN.

If I'm going to upgrade I'm looking for a UHD 4K that pairs with my Nvidia, so, GSync would be preferable. And then if IPS is the way to go over TN, well there's that too.
