Got the GPU, need everything else (please help)

Hello everyone,

I decided to build a decent gaming desktop.

I just purchased an EVGA GTX 980 ti Hybrid for $350 ( was told this was a good deal )

i am hoping i can keep the cost of all other components to about $400-$500 or less (ideal)

i have the following components available:

i7 r2600 3.4ghz 8mb (i know, it's old)
256 gb SSD (samsung)
16gb DDR3 memory

I am missing the case, power supply, fans, motherboard, and processor (if mine is too old).

any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks again!

1st your GPU is a solid deal... concerning you see the gtx 1070 prices atm all <MOD EDIT LANGUAGE> up

2nd your cpu isnt too old.... solid deal..... dont worry

3rd for the motherboard you can go Asrock Z77 extreme4 mobo.

4th for the case alot of options..,, for me im going H440 for my next build.... its over 100 dollars... if you lack money... just ask we will find a good replacement but just tell us your budget price

5th for the PSU you can never go wrong with the seasonic M12II 750W PSU... incredible build quality... again check its price we can find cheaper solutions for the budget but still this one is a solid <MOD EDIT LANGUAGE> deal.

6th fans depend on which case you buy.... we are yet to see.

7th if you dont have an ssd... i would buy one..... for the OS and programs to give all the loading times a great boost... you will sense a big difference on that one.

*Edited* i edited to Asrock z77 than asus H97... DONT BUY THE H97... WONT WORK WITH THE CPU.... IT WAS MY FAULT FOR FORGETTING THE CPU IS 1155 NOT 1150.... I REPEAT BUY THE z77

Thanks for the info! So you know. Budget is around $400 for remaining components. I already have an SSD =)

Case color depends on what you choose.... you have many colors for this case! pick what fits you best....
you can add 2 fans you can use the nzxt FN V2 ones and other color we will look other fans depend on color also depends on case color you choose.

Well 1st the mobo is fine... close to the one ive shown you

2nd look at the N21 and look at the s340... both close in price... and pixk the one you like better..

3rd the cooler try to find the Cryorig H7 because it can juice good extra cooling for the cpu under 5 dollars difference lol

4th if you can i always tend to go over the recommended wattage a bit.... maybe look for the 700w or 750w variant of this evga psu... PSU is still good but im just saying.
