Orange Tint On Second Monitor

I just recently upgraded from a GTX 770 to a GTX 1070 (and I love it!).

However, my gtx 1070 (asus strix 8gb) only has a single DVI port and no VGA ports. The rest are HDMI.

I use two monitors:

Primary: QNIX QX2414 Real 144Hz (DVI only)
Secondary: Acer G226HQL 60Hz (DVI or VGA only)

So, I bought a VGA to DVI adapter and used it to plug my second monitor into an HDMI slot. It works except there is now a strange orange tint on the screen, like a fog over the screen that makes it very unpleasant to use.

Any thoughts on what's causing this issue?

That's a cable issue. The signal is being distorted somehow. Do all the common things:
1. Remove and reattach the cable
2. remove and reattach the adapter
3. swap the cable/adapter
4. Try a DVI to HDMI adapter

DVI to HDMI adapter fixed the problem.
