Sup dudes, I just got an Alienware 17 R3 laptop, I mostly play WoW and Fallout 4 on it. Problem is I can't get used to the keyboard no matter how hard I force myself. I hate everything about it, how it's non clicky, the stupid extra buttons on the left side. I just got so used to old traditional keyboard that I can't handle the change.
Anyway long story short, I was thinking I will just get an external monitor for when I'm at home gaming and an external gaming keyboard. The problem is that I don't know if this will add extra strain on GPU or anything else, but if it does I would like to minimize this as much as possible. The laptop gets hot real fast when gaming and I am afraid of purchasing something that will strain it even further.
So if anyone can recommend something within a 400 price range that would be great. Not looking for anything too big, like I said I will mostly use it for gaming.
Here are my specs:
Alienware 17 i7 K-Series Quad-Core
Intel® Core™ i7-6820HK
Windows 10 Home 64bit English
32GB Dual Channel DDR4 2133Mhz
NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M with 8GB GDDR5
Display:
17.3 inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IGZO IPS Anti-Glare 400-nits Display
