Monitor vs TV

Hello, so I will soon be getting either the gtx 1070 or 980 TI. And I want to maximize my experience To me the most important thing is that the monitor immerse me in the game , I currently have a View sonic 1680 X 1050 20' monitor. As you see that is a very bad monitor and is not fit for a gtx 1070 or 980 ti. SO I started searching the internet and I came by the LG 29' 2560 x 1920 WHICH looks amazing and 21:9 looks cool and is at 220 $ price point. I was going to buy it but then thought I should check if there is one at best buy to save time so I go to the website and I search and see a 32' SMART tv for 150 $ I was amazed, I am trying to decide and could use some help if neither of these are good then my maximum amount of money is 230$ and I really want a big display. Thank you !

if gaming is ur primary concern, a tv will not give u enuf response time for a gpu to push at the best settings...monitors all the way...and ur choices are limited at that price point...

looks cool but is 144 HZ overrated ? I mean Only cs go players need that right ? anyway I think I will get this monitor thanks
