I currently have a Asus Strix GTX 970. My dad is looking to upgrade his graphics card and he I offered to sell him my 970 so I could upgrade. He agreed and I started looking.

So yesterday in a state of euphoria I purchased a ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP! Omega from Newegg for $400. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Now today, I'm seeing GTX 1070 cards on Newegg for only $30-50 more and I'm wondering if I made the right choice. I don't want to go the 1080 route because I have to stay under $450.

What do you guys think? My monitor currently only supports 1080p but I'm hoping to upgrade to a 1440p monitor next month.

nothing wrong with a 980ti, enjoy your new graphics card!
you are fine at 1080p and 1440p either way.

The 1070 is slightly faster and has newer architecture so if you can get your full money back, yeah, I'd switch as it'd be better for the long run
