Windows 10 upgrade has problem with ASUS VS239h-p

I just tried to do the Windows 10 upgrade and the Upgrade Assistant reports that "The display is not compatible with Windows 10." It's a fairly new Asus VS239h-P monitor and is registered in the device manager as a Generic PnP monitor. Any idea what's wrong?

its your vid drivers most likely.
I had this problem on a win 7 computer i did a complete reinstall of win 7 and then upgrade all work fine

I'm not going to do a complete reinstall of win 7. Which video driver are you referring to? The Generic PnP monitor or something else? I'm actually connected through HDMI. Is that the driver I should be looking for?
