I am trying to install Crysis (original) in Windows 10. I read that it will work perfectly after you disable windows 10 compatibility engine and it's assistant. My search led me to these instructions http:// which says "Keep in mind that you must know what you are doing and what software you run. Incompatible software can really make yous system even not bootable!"

The instructions are very easy & doable for me. I'm wondering why that poster said "you must know what you are doing". My PC knowledge is intermediate. I have never delved into Run & changed any filenames though. Please advise. Thank you.

''I have the original disc bought when it first came out. Are there Crysis (original) game downloads for purchase'' [ I got 2 full retail disks of crisis 1 ]

see you got the full game disk but yet you now looking to buy it again cause you got 10 and it don't work ? see how silly this is then it still may not work fully and like from the first link no refunds [they got your money you got nothing to show for it ] and still on 10

may want to check there forums on the game first to insure it will work as expected on 10 ?? [ I got 2 full retail disks of crisis 1 ]

pretty well coveres all I said about it above here LOl...
I thought win-10 was so great for gaming ?? why cant you just load and go with your games on it ?? I guess its how your forced to something like steam cause your retail full disk games are now being rendered useless ??

''On the other hand, this means so many older games now just won’t work on Windows 10 – Retail versions of games such as The Sims, Crysis, Mass Effect, BioShock, Grand Theft Auto IV and more use SecuROM. They’ll probably just become unplayable now.

It does feel like we’re potentially losing some actually pretty recent parts of gaming history because of this decision.

windows 10 what a joke

Yeah, forcing companies to come up with better DRM than the extremely invasive and unsupported SecuROM and SafeDisc that destroyed the OS since it was invented, what monsters.

So OP do you have the disc or is it on Steam/Origin? if it isn't on disc, it should just work.

its all about you holding full retail copies of software you now got to rent from steam / origin or uplay so they got your money and you got nothing unless they give it to you plus there malware clients installed first

only games I cant get to work with 7 64 are the older ones that did not have a 64bit installer like far cry1 works great on 32 bit 7 just cant install or run on 64 bit

windows 10 and intel skylake what a trap you fall in to

but look on the bright side you got DX12 wheee......

windows 10 steam and all your just screwed all around

I like this part ''If your running them on Windows 10, then yes they are outdated. They were never designed to run under 10. 10 did not exist when they were created. If you were still running 7, then you could play them.

well 7 was not around eather it was a game for vista but I have no issues with it on 7 , go figure ??

if me I would invest in a new hard drive and a new retail copy of 7 just for this and all games you may find don't work anymore under 10 no telling what else don't fly
