ASUS PG278Q Power Supply Issues

After a few months of having to unplug my PG278Q from the wall to get it to turn back on (a common problem) I think my power brick has finally died; no amount of reseating plugs or cables gets the screen to power on. I'm pretty sure my warranty has run out and I don't want to send it off for any lengthy RMA process, so would it be plausible to use a third-party power supply with the same ratings as the official one?

A lot of the supplies I have found for sale state they are only for laptop use but obviously I don't want to shell out for one when it might damage my screen. Anyone had a similar experience and could help?

Solution
If the plug on the end of the charging cable matches your old one and the power (watts) rating/amps rating/volts rating is the same, it should be fine
