Ok, so a friend of mine wanted to add more memory to his pc.
Quad core cpu, Gigabyte ga-x48t-dq6 motherboard and he had installed 2 x 2gb modules ddr3 kingston kvr1066d3n7/2g and 2 modules of the same memory but 4gb.

We removed them and we put 2x4gb memories transend 1333mhz and 2x4 corsair memories 1333mhz
Here our problems start. At first although bios should recognize 16gb of memory it only recognized 12. Then several bsod, and continuous restarts.

We removed them and installed the previous back. Pc wont boot or if it boots, it would constantly beep. We tried the 2x4gb previous modules in the pink memory slots and it booted normaly. We then added the rest of the old rams and we had the same problems.
The only way that this pc boots is by installing only the 2x4gb modules it had at first place. And only in the pink slots. We tried every other combination, and nothing worked.
Ok, we decided that we wont install the new ones (transend and corsair) but can someone help us why the pc doesnt work with the same modules as it used to work for over 5 years??

Ps: Sometimes along with the 2x4 gb kingston if we add a module of the new ones it may show up but only in the half size of it.....

just tagging along on this post, when you refer to resetting the CMOS, do you just mean by removing the battery for a few minutes then reinserting it.
