Random green pixels on monitor

Sometimes I get random green pixels/ red lines on my monitor when it starts up. I just bought my monitor and am using a Lenovo u430 touch which has some haswell core i5, 8gb ram, integrated graphics and am connected via hdmi. The odd thing is that if i turn the monitor(an acer r240hy) off then on again it works just fine and the integrated display works jusat fine. This happens on both my windows and linux installations so I dont think it is a driver issue. Is this a monitor issue or a gpu issue?

the only reason I think it may be a monitor issue is it works fine when i turn the monitor off then on again

yes and no. You will pull more power when you run 2x LCD get a temp monitor like adia64 to see how hot you get.
or it may be the HDMI did you try the LCD on a desktop computer

I dont have one and you may be right with the power draw, ill try not using the integrated display
Update: the cpu temps are around 41 degrees celsius
