Hello,

I require some help if possible.

I've bought a new PC recently (2 weeks old).
I have a fresh windows 10 pro 64bit install (legit).
I'm getting rare random BSODs (once every 2-3 days) which I cannot reproduce.

Config is as follows:
i5 6600k
Msi gtx 1070 Armor OC
Corsair vengeance LPX 2.8GHz 2x8 GB ddr4
Asus z170-a mobo
(other parts are not important I guess)

So I have my cpu overclocked to 4.4GHz, and using my ram with XMP profile, so 2800MHz frequency. (VCore 1.29)
I've run multiple stress tests (prime95 blend test) and the system seems stable.
Temperatures are OK, max. around 65-72C during p95, around 45-50C during gaming.

I've done virus scan with Avira, malware scan with Malwarebytes.
I've done SFC /scannow, memory diagnostics, memtest86 (2passes).
Everything seems fine.

Now, drivers... When I installed windows, Ive installed basic drivers like sound driver, mobo chipset, graphics driver from nvidia, then I used Driver Booster 3, to update every other driver possible (maybe this was the problem?).

I've suspected a driver issue, so I was testing with the built in driver verifier (I've tested every driver in 2 runs), but I had no errors.

I don't know what to do now, as both hardware and software seem okay (for me).
I've done every tests that I've found on forums.

I have the memory dump from my latest BSOD here:

Bluescreenview says:

These errors are really annoying, for every fix, I would need to test for 3-4 days which is very long...

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Daniel

Solution
I would update the BIOS just for the "Improve system stability" fixes
then remove both of the overclocking drivers. (I think the asus GPU tweak tool is the most likely cause for this problem)
-----------
The bugcheck the internal error code was 0xc0000005 (a bad memory address used by a driver) while running NvStreamUserAgent.exe
I would guess the asus driver tweaked your GPU settings and caused a problem.

you might also update the intel network driver:

(only because streaming drivers are often messed up by bugs in network drivers)
(these take a while to crash the system and your system was up for System Uptime: 4 days 7:27:47.950)

update BIOS: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/
update the windows 10 drivers from the same location (if you have not already installed them.)

I would remove the overclock drivers (asus and intel)

Hi johnbl,

thanks for the answer!
Ive updated the bios to the latest, installed the intel network driver.
In the device manager under "network cards" (probably called something else in english, my OS is hungarian)
/ Intel Ethernet Connection (2) l219-V - I see that the driver version is now 2016.05.10 and the provider is Intel.
Is this okay then? Anything else to check?

As for the oc drivers, I've found XTU Package (intel extreme tuning utility) so I deleted that one.

So, how should I remove:
- AsUpIO.sys
- IOMap64.sys

I cannot find any related programs. Maybe Asus AI Suite 3? I have that installed, but afaik it doesnt have anything to do with the GPU.

I don't have the GPU Tweak tool installed.

I am not sure on how the asus utilities should be uninstalled. It would be best to update the drivers or find the way that asus wants you to uninstall it.
(google for it) I tend to disable the driver using a tool or just remove the driver manually.

Thanks!

I've found out that NvStreamUserAgent.exe (which you'd mentioned) sholdn't be running in the first place, because it is a streaming service to nvidia shield console, which I don't own so... Maybe I will look into disabling this streaming and the problem will go away hopefully.
I need to test for 4-5 days to be sure though :)
