Windows 10 Suddenly Taking Longer To Shut Down

I have Windows 10 on a solid state drive. It loads very quickly and used to shut down just as fast. Last weekend I wanted to download WinRAR. In a rush, I clicked on one of the the first links that showed up. I should have known it was wrong (not the official website I've used to download WinRAR in the past, and the installer was different). Once I installed this false WinRAR, all kinds of icons showed up on my desktop- Facebook, Netflix, and numerous others that I can't remember. If I go to google.com and search for something the results show up under https://www.securesearch.co/ I don't remember seeing that before. Sometimes the format of the search results page is different too. Text size, font style, and spacing is different.

AVG doesn't show any viruses on my computer. Windows 10 still boots just as fast as it always has. However, now it takes several minutes for my computer to completely shut off. The monitor goes to "no signal" almost right away after I turn it off, but the fans keep running and the power LED on the tower stays on for a few minutes after that. I don't know that it hurts anything, but I think something is wrong since it never did that until I downloaded WinRAR from the wrong link.

What should I do?

Solution
Try doing a clean boot: https://windowsinstructed.com/clean-boot-windows-windows/ - it could be something you load at startup that is slowing down shutdown. Microsoft suggest doing clean boot if either start or shut down is slow.

Try running malwarebytes: https://www.malwarebytes.com/ - that might help the search redirect and kill the malware
