Hi again. Planning to buy gtx 1070 this week and also thought about replacing my old 1080p 60hz monitor with 1440p 60hz (1440p 144hz is too expensive for me). But read a lot of opinions that 1080p 144hz is better in many ways. I don't play competetive games like Dota 2 or CS:GO or multiplayer games except WoW (there is no difference). Also i really don't like the perspective of TN display instead of IPS but is it really that noticeable? So is it worth it? What would be better for the future games? Which one should i choose? Thanks.

If you're going 1440p 60hz then you'd be better served with a GTX 1060, at least for the moment.

In my opinion, a good TN panel still doesn't match an IPS panel. With TN, you're getting about 75% of the colour that IPS offers.

144hz refresh rates are great for gaming, but there are still a large number of games that have locked frame rates. Dark Souls 3, which is locked at 60 fps, is the most recent example I can think of.

what size is your current monitor? this influences a lot of the decision.

I am also on the GTX 1070 train and going for an ASUS PG278Q I will buy from someone.
high quality TN panels are actually quite good. I use one currently at home @1080p and will upgrade to 1440p with TN as well. I also mostly play wow and for me is more than enough.
I have an IPS screen at work next to a crappy TN panel and yeah there the difference is obvious.

everyone is different but from what you are saying, you will notice more the resolution jump than the Hz difference. Also, the 1070 is perfect for 1440p

theres a lot of games that are locked like soul suspect locked @30 fps all of call of Juarez games are locked at 100 watchdogs is locked at 60 a ips panel has a better color spectrum than a tn panel at any angle, 60 hz is for basic office work but in today's technology is 144 hz for gaming , I remember back around 2005 or so pretty much all monitors were 60 hz
