Is a 10-bit monitor better than an 8-bit monitor?

I heard the 10-bit will look worse if you don't have the right GPU like the Nvidia Quadro cards. Does anyone know if this is true or does it not make any difference, or would it look better?

if you didn't have any of the Nvidia Quadro cards and if both monitors costed the same would you rather buy the 8-bit or 10-bit?

10-bit has 1 billion colors compared to the 8-bit's 16.8 million colors. So, color reproduction wise, it sure is better than the 8-bit panel. That's not true at all. You don't require a Quadro card to run 10-bit monitor properly. A 10-bit monitor is also called HDR monitor.
