Computer crashes when playing games

I've looked up a few forums on the topic but not much helped out. My computer was just fine untill recently and it never gave out much heat, but now it seems whenever I am playing a game it lags for a second. If I close the game then and there it's fine, but if I don't the computer freezes and I have to force close it. A couple times it doesn't crash but the sound on my computer is gone. Hmm. I guess it's because I went threw the program it didn't catch the update because it said everything was up to date. The computer doesn't completely freeze, but it's still so laggy it's unplayable and sometimes just crashes.

*Edit* It let me play longer, but after a while it froze anyway. :/

Does this happen on all games or just one of your games that you currently play?
There's probably a setting that you may or may not have on that making you ctd
I would take the time and attempt to figure out maybe what event in the game makes you crash.
If you are crashing on every game then it might be a issue with compatibility
But most of the time it's all about settings.
