Hello all,

I have come to the point in my computing life where I need a new computer. However this computer is very different to the computers I normally have (gaming computers) as this one needs to be a dedicated CAD station.
I have done some research on this and have gathered two different build paths, I would like some opinions on the two to help me determine which one would be better for me.

The computer will be used for CAD Drawings of very complex and large buildings and also for modelling/rendering and animation in 3DS Max.

Any advice about the two builds would very helpful.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

I think the 2nd build is better(Honestly much easier to read) for the CPU & PSU. But:
1- Why dont get 32GB RAM 3200Mhz instead of 16GB?
2- Did you consider that you might need RAID for the the 2TB HD so in case it crashes you will have a copy.
3- Also why dont you get more 320GB+ SSD instead of 240GB as these tools require alot of space.

In this video someone did a build for something like what you want to do, check it and you dont need to get all parts but he explains everything you will need and why!
