Hi everyone,

I would like to reinstall Windows 10 from a DVD on to my Skylake 6700k system, it has a 500 gb Samsung Evo SSD and a 2TB HDD, both have data on them. I want to clean install Windows 10 to the SSD and completely wipe the HDD as well. I have a few questions before I do this..

1. Is it best to run Windows updates first and get the new Anniversary update and such first? Or should I install the drivers first?

2. Is it best to use the online drivers or the CD drivers that came with the motherboard? I have heard it is best to install the CD drivers that came with the motherboard and then after Windows updates download the newer versions from online.. Is this necessary?

3. Exactly which drivers should I download for Windows 10, here is a link to the motherboard driver page. https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/MAXIMUS-VIII-RANGER/HelpDesk_Download/ Do I need things like, SATA, Utilities and such? I just want the bare minimum drivers.

4. Should I unplug my secondary HDD before I install Windows 10? Or can I format that HDD within the custom install section of the Windows installer? I heard it is better to unplug the HDD and format the secondary HDD within Disk Management after you have installed the OS to the SSD.

5. Should I unplug my wireless adapter before the clean install? And when should I download the drivers for this?

6. How Can I completely wipe my secondary HDD within Disk Management?

I know it's alot of questions, thanks very much for your help!

before you do a clean install make sure any data on the ssd you want is moved.
make sure your mb has the newest bios from asus..use a usb stick and put the unzip bios on it and use the mb bios updater.
for drivers you need the newest intel chipset drivers.

lan driver.
use the windows media creation tool to make a newest bootable iso usb stick. (8g stick). on it make driver folder and move all the newest drivers to it and your video card drivers).
unplug the hard drive with the power off.
boot from the usb stick and under advance settings remove all of the partions on the ssd. let windows 10 make new ones. if you registered this pc already you can skip entering windows oem code.
once the pc boots into windows install the drivers. make sure there no missing drivers.
do windows update. last big update is 1607 you can do a update yourself if it not doing the 1607 by asking about updates and downloading 1607 from ms.
power off plug in the hard drive. under disk mamanagement you can format and fdisk the old hard drive.
